OER Advancement Grant Interest Meeting - Faculty Meeting Online

The library was awarded over $20,000 through the Board of Regents and LOUIS Library Consortium for their project, OER Beyond GenEd. This project will support the creation of 3 free e-textbooks for 200-, 300-, and 400-level courses at LSUS.

This project will enable LSUS to provide additional zero-cost textbooks to students and increase our already robust offering of free textbooks. To fulfill this goal, the grant provides funding for faculty authors to create 3 brand-new textbooks with support from Sarah Mazur, Director of Resource Management and leader for library affordable learning initiatives.

Faculty who may be interested in participating can find out more information here.

Faculty who want to create a free textbook can apply to participate here. Participants will be notified of acceptance by March 4, 2024

The OER Advancement Grant was created to advance the use and knowledge of OER in the state of Louisiana in accordance with Act 128 of the 2023 Regular Session. This legislation specifically supports the adaptation and creation of OER, activities that leverage OER to improve student outcomes, and activities that benefit and support historically underrepresented and socially and economically disadvantaged students.
