Durable Art: The Timeless Relevance of Editorial Cartoons - Panel Discussion In-Person
“Durable Art: The Timeless Relevance of Editorial Cartoons,” an NWLA Archives exhibition, will open October 20, on the 3rd floor of Noel Library. Featured are twenty-eight selected original cartoon drawings representing social, political, and economic issues of the 20th century in America from a local perspective. They are as relevant today as they were when they first appeared. The exhibition takes an interdisciplinary approach to foster understanding and critical thinking about the historical significance and cultural impact of editorial cartooning. Hours will be 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday until the end of the fall semester. Join us for a panel discussion, featuring LSUS faculty experts in Arts and Media, Literature, and History, on October 23 from 5:30-7:30 pm in the Assembly Room, 3rd floor of Noel Library. All audiences are welcome and encouraged to engage in discussion.
