From Tír na nÓg to Avalon: The Mythology and Folklore of Ireland and Wales In-Person

You hear a wail from the castle walls on a dark night. Is it an Irish Banshee or a Welsh Gwrach y Rhibyn? Join us at the Noel Memorial Library as we explore the impact on modern culture of the Irish Tuatha Dé Danann and the Welsh Mabinogion. While their traditions are often lumped together as "Celtic," Irish and Welsh mythology and folklore are distinct reflections of a connected culture. From Tír na nÓg to Avalon examines the profound influence of the archetypal creatures and tales of each tradition, including enduring figures like Cú Chulainn and King Arthur, through a historical and literary lens.
