Advertising: A Mixture of Flattery and Threats In-Person
LSUS Northwest Louisiana Archives’ exhibition “Advertising: A Mixture of Flattery and Threats” explores different forms of advertising used by businesses, individuals, and politicians across a range of mediums such as newspapers, radio, and TV. Advertisements have a long history of shaping societal spending, cultural values, and even a level of mythmaking often termed “legalized lying”. The Exhibit is located on the third floor of the library in the atrium display cases. The exhibit will be on display from September 14, 2026 to January 15, 2027.
