Cartographic Curiosities Hosted by The James Smith Noel Collection In-Person
In the sixteenth-seventeenth centuries, European explorers embarked on numerous journeys of discovery, exploration, and conquest that reshaped their understanding of the world. Many far-flung parts of the world appeared on ever-more-accurate maps and sea charts. The Noel Collection’s exhibit showcases a selection of maps from an era when cartography was not only a science but an artform as well.
