For the Love of Play: A Journey Across the History of Games In-Person
The Noel Memorial Library invites you to explore games old and new through an interactive display about the history and meaning of games. Long before players traded sheep in Settlers of Catan, sussed out imposters in Among Us, or battled against friend and foe in Super Smash Bros, people of the ancient world passed the time with games such as the Royal Game of Ur, Senet, and Mancala. Visit this exhibit to delve into the historical roots of games around the world, learn what makes a game a game, and even play some games for yourself. The exhibit will be featured on the first floor of Noel Memorial Library from November 1st-30th, 2021.
